The Location

This stunning modern house will be our location for the day. With beautiful interiors and an abundance of natural light, it serves as the perfect subject for learning interior photography.

It has 6 bedrooms and 5 reception rooms, so there’s plenty of space for everyone to take pictures and come away with something for their portfolio.

Located between Oxford and Aylesbury, it is easily reached from the M40. Haddenham & Thame Parkway is the nearest station which has a direct line from London, Birmingham and Oxford.

Your Host

Ryan Wicks

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 10 years.

Starting as an estate agent’s property photographer, I quickly developed skills and techniques that produce quality results in very little time.

These days, I mostly work for interior designers, kitchen companies and hotels, where I have more time to produce even higher-quality imagery that often ends up in magazines like Homes & Gardens, Ideal Home and 25 Beautiful Homes.

After 10 years, I decided it was time to pass on some knowledge to those earlier in their careers and I’ve now discovered a love for teaching through my workshops and 1-1 coaching.

Outside work, I have 2 daughters, Etta (5) and Dolly (3), with my wife, Harriet. We live together in the Cotswolds.

Is this workshop right for you?

Are you…

  • A working photographer specialising in another genre looking to switch to/add on interior photography?

  • A student or graduate photographer interested in pursuing a career in interior photography?

  • An estate agent photographer wanting to produce higher quality work for designers etc?

  • A dedicated hobbyist interested in advancing their knowledge?

Then probably yes!

This is an entry-level introduction to the specifics of interior photography. It is not a complete beginner’s guide to photography in general. To attend, you should have basic knowledge of manual photography and understand the exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture and ISO).

If you are already a working interior/architecture photographer, this workshop is likely to be too basic for you. You would be better served by my advanced lighting for interior photography workshop (info coming soon).
