A stunning loft bathroom designed by interior designer Sarah Southwelll for maximum space and light to set the scene for the sanctuary she had in mind well before her loft extension took place.
Sarah initially contacted Ryan via Instagram enquiring how to place her house in an interiors magazine. The collaboration between Sarah, Ryan and interiors stylist and writer Dilly Orme has proved very successful with her house featured in 25 Beautiful Homes and the bathroom from her subsequent loft extension featured in Ideal Home in February 2021.
Sarah created a luxurious bathroom inspired by high-end hotels. The focal point being the roll-top Charcoal Copper Bateau Bath by Witt & Berg
The roomy shower is kept as visually open as possible with the clear Industrial Style Matte Black Shower Screen by Lusso Stone
Matte Black hardware also by Lusso Stone.
To create a further sense of space Sarah used dramatic Plummet Modern Eggshell by Farrow and Ball on the woodwork, including the door, to contrast against the white walls.
A floating countertop was created from two Kudos Carrara Marble Counter Top Basins and a Wall Hung Slimline Countertop Basin Shelf by Lusso to allow for maximum floor space to enhance the overall spacious feel of the bathroom.
Matt black hardware, the Monobloc Basin Mixer Tap Matte Black from Lusso was a perfect fit for the monochrome pallet.
The ergonomic Kudos Carrara Marble Counter Top Basins from Lusso are made from a single block of Carrara marble – stylish in their simplicity.
After getting a quote for £400 to build some storage under the floating counter top – Sarah researched what she could find ready made. She sourced a drawer unit for just £36 from eBay, which was painted to tie in with the paintwork.
Round mirrors from Cox and Cox above the sink make a nice contrast completing the room and creating a lovely focal point. Highlighted by “Bold as Brass” Wall Lights, from Spark and Bell
The Bert and May Black Pradena Tiles were hand made in Spain – chosen for the monochrome colour and the star pattern which adds a sense of fun to the room.
